    • I teach first year Heart Technicians Diploma General English.

  3. There are some really nice books there, but I think most of them would just confuse people in their first year of teaching. I would go entirely for practical titles like Dictation by Mario Rinvolucri et al and 5 Minute Activities by Penny Ur. The next level up would be Sound Foundations by Adrian Underhill and About Language by Scott Thornbury. Then I think teachers are ready for most of the titles you have given, along with some stuff on SLA. I read Defining Issues and the History of ELT after about 10 years of teaching, and to be honest I don’t think I would have appreciated them as much even 2 years earlier.

    Would probably change my list even more if they were teaching young learners.

    Many thanks for your point of view, the books posted here are concerning teachers interested in Contiuning their postgraduates studies such as MA TESOL , MA APPLIED LINGUISTICS and so..
